OGame API not work

      Since more or less 2h, the API is indeed broken, "INVALID_API_KEY_EXPIRED". Tried Topraider, Ogotcha, Trashsim, same problem everywhere.
      As far as I know, in the last Q&A session, there was a talk about that specific problem, and that something has been done so it does not happen again.

      So.. Why does it happen again ?

      I know it's not vital, it doesn't stop you from playing the game, but when you get used to it, it's really annoying to have it down.
      I've played a lot of different online, browser games, most of them had an API support for third party tools, but I never saw so many problems. Planning the expiration of the key NOT THE WEEKEND, with someone that renews the key at least one week before the expiration, it shouldn't be that hard.. Is it ?

      And on API, certain functions are broken since several months, without any information.

      But, in the last one newsletter, it was said that one safety had been organized to avoid this problem. First test, pouf, broken. As a result, instead of being satisfied blissfully, one might as well say things.

      The APIs is very practical but, for some time, they slow down the scripter more than they help them.
    • @DeltaT : We've been told something was done so that situation won't happen again. It did happen again. I'm asking why, is is something that bad ?
      Furthermore, as Néné said, there are still plenty of issues with the API, and no answer. If you're a guy living in the teletubbies world, where everything must be sunny, happy, whatever, that's fine, it's your choice. Definitely not mine.
    • So two issues are plenty? Name both^^ (playerdata.xml not included, that is fixed in version 6.5.x which is already live on our testservers and probably comes next week to the liveservers)

      For why it was broken today I'm also curious. Haven't asked the person that fixed it because it's weekend and not their job to keep track of it. The responsible person probably is back tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, so that I can ask him/her then.

      One that I can think of right now, without the first coffee of the day, is vulca's banned ip.
      I had to give him a webspace on my webserver to create a kind of webproxy, because his IP is banned. This is since last May, it's not something new..

      Don't get me wrong, I love the API, but I think GF complicated it too much.. And I sometimes wonder if there's really someone in charge of it, who knows how it works and how to enhance it.
      GF is a big society, I work in a pretty big society too, and letting something not work like this for several months (in vulca's case) would have get me fired.
