Probes & bashing
PostIf you can afford a colony ship, you can afford to leave one probe on the new planet to defend against probe plunders. And if you leave too many resources undefended, that's your fault. Losing how little resource you get when you colonize a new planet is irrelevant anyway.

Quote from koda: “so after the simulator trolled me and i had more losses than expected” Might be because on Oldschool, Light Fighters only get a RF of 3 from cruisers?

1st colony
Post@totalanihilation: Well, in any other position than 15 I would find it stupid to abandon a 154 fields colony, unless you already have another 8 big planets.

Quote from retirado_off: “may godddd.... almost 35-32-32.... the universe is very long dude... these levels are very low 35-32-32-0 robots 10 nanos 3 shipyard 10 storages ?-?-? Silo 4-6 lab? I think, the colony should has more fields than homeworld....as minimum but if you think 140 fields is enough... good luck for you xD” So, let's take your example. 35-32-32 with Solar 0 (obviously) = 99 tiles Robots 10, Nanites 3 (I think it's low, but hey, it's your setup), shipyard 10 (although I fail to s…

There's plenty of room in G1, mostly in positions 13, 14, 15. Surely they're less likely to produce a "big" planet but you can do lots of stuff even with 50 tiles until you are fully deployed and need to abandon your worse planets. I've got a 146 fields planet in position 9 and guess what, I'm keeping it. If I need more fields (which is probably not happening before a year or two), that's where terraforming comes into play. And compared to the cost of what I'm going to build on those new tiles, …

Flashbacks
PostFinally making it to the top 1500 and getting tons of spying reports xD Long ago if you weren't in the best 1500, you were nameless, as there were no rankings below that number.

1st colony
PostI've got the same temperature in position 13, so it's far from perfect xD

I played OGame about 10 years ago, give or take. There were no ACS, no BC. Then, I had to stop for my studies, and didn't come back before 3~4 years ago. Only one French universe had no ACS and being a solo player mostly (not the most social kind), I figured it would be a good start. ACS has its uses, and has it advantages and drawbacks for and against raiders, but overall repels "elite" players who tend to be more lonely in their gameplay. As for the Battlecruiser, well... for what my opinion's…

1st colony
Post200 tiles are more than enough on a regular speed universe, I don't get why people would ever try so hard to get more than that. Unless they're stupid crazy enough to want solar and fusion plants at insane levels for some reason...

Terraformer
PostFrom what I could understand from your post, the answer is yes. In fact, in the new versions, you get one extra field on every second terraformer level. Not on the oldschool version. According to the german wiki, the extra field was added in version 3.0

Gammaglider cost
PostAs I said, it's not the same ship. The one in the picture in the link you provided should have a much higher health than the one we have.

PostMmh, something seems to have gone wrong with my copy-paste in the previous message, here's the formula: (Note: Prior to version 0.78a, the formula was: [Obsolete] E = 50 x F x 1.1^F )

Gammaglider cost
PostExcept it's not the same as the one we have on the actual server.

PostFrom wiki again. In the formulae below: a01b1a9b54bbe5d60c0bbc3eaf8486d5.png c8332139536a46651613ddd2f0bf42d0.png (Note: Prior to version 0.78a, the formula was: [Obsolete] So, as if it wasn't obvious, Energy technology doesn't affect the energy output on this server. Any level above 12 to unlock the terraformer is basically wasted.

PostI suppose if you're still there in 3 years, there will be a reason to worry about the energy provided by a level 20 fusion plant. I'd be much more worried about the cost though, since each level is 1.8 times more expensive than the previous one, which would bring the 20th level's cost up to: 63,741,181 metal 25,496,472 cristal 12,748,236 deuterium Even on nowadays universes where the Energy technology applies a multiplier to the fusion plant's output, you rarely go that high. You'll see combos o…
