Something like this perhaps, where the "I/E" changes colour whether the item has been bought or not.

I know it may seem silly to create such a feedback for something you know only happens once per day, but sometimes I end up opening the merchant to check the item in the Import/Export just to realise I already bought it.

i suggest to modify it a little bit:

show and color the letter "A" (=Auctioneer):
A for no auction (at night)
A for next auction in cooldown
A for active auction

then the A can be underlined to show I/E status:
A for no box available
A for box available
