Another idea of mine was a new drive, according to the canon reason for ogame a nova bomb destroyed earth, so something like a Nova Drive that would engulf a ship and take it to the target in X minutes faster than hyperdrive.

I don't want to discourage you, i like suggestions board and i admire players with bright ideas.
I also like speed ships but not sure how this will work, how much will cost and what ships can use it and most of all, how fast will be .

Say it costs around 600K metal, 1.5 million crystal, and 300k deut.
The requirements would be something like:
Energy tech: 10
Hyperspace tech: 12
Computer tech: 10
Shield Tech: 7
Let's say a 100% boost each time researched.
