What would be a Better way to improve the fleet ratio than the 5:1 right now? 9
    1.
Higher Fleet Escape Ratio (4) 44%
    2.
      Rank Progress Influence (1) 11%
    3.
      Fleet Score Influence (1) 11%
    4.
      other (please specify) (3) 33%

I want to explain before an Admin/Op shuts it down.
As I was posting a reply I figured why not ask the community to give both you guys a feedback and a chance for the others to implement their thoughts on the subject. As this is a SERIOUS change there should be SERIOUS feedback from both mods/op/admins and Players they work for. So heres my proposals:

1- a standard 15:1 (single attacks) 25:1 if theres ACS involved. If the
defence doesnt matter in the ratio then a 5:1/15:1 ratio wont matter.
Either include it (defence) or dont set the standard too low against it.

2- As rank progresses the ratio increases, (or falls off entirely) this
teaches the players to actually pay attention especially if they almost
lose the fleet to begin with.
    i.e. 100k 5:1 raises to 10:1
    1M 10:1
    raises to 20:1
    5M 20:1 raises to 50:1,
    10M+ 50:1 drops off entirely.

3- Fleet progress. Similar to the rank but with fleetscore ONLY.
    So i.e.
I have 500 ships total, i get a 5:1 ratio... someone with say 10k ships
should have a 10:1 ratio, 100k fleet, 100:1 ratio... it should go up
    based on that

I have nothing against those detailed polls, but it's better to ask me or other board supporter first. It's OK here cause of your friendly posting ;-)
And it's really fine for me and other responsible mates when users start good factual threads like yours, thank you.

    Here are some hints :

    - The noob protection feature works only below 500k points, so your higher ratios for 1m and more points are senseless.
    - Please look around existing combat reports ... 99% of them are with a lower ratio than 5:1 - So at last those high proposals are not really needed.
    - There are several other conditions, that fleets are escapeable.

  • I've got one of last 32 fights which is under the ratio... and I'm there in th Honour Points Board : 64 (45) [FR_T] AK_for_Test 18 ... 8|

I just can't recy unhonorable players, so I have to be sure I could have rentability by plunder
And, I can't recy honorable players 'cause 3/4 of them don't let me rentability, instead of a few opponents mistakes
    :dash:

The minimum GF should do is to increase def in ratio, and they should extend honorable players list

I must say that I think it's not such a good idea to keep safe "unhonorable players" in the Uni, 'cause the best I should do will be to make so much plunders on them, that means crash their def, not sure that will motivate them more...

And for honorable players, it means that now, only acs will keep you rentability, instead of a few fights (most of them will be plunders on def, and the others recy on fleet without def)
How could I say it ? Where's the personnal stategy there ? What about raiding alone ?

Or is that the idea ?
To make OG with team play only ?
Will players really appreciate this ? ACS are part of the game, but should it become an obligation ?
Well, at least it's the same with cost options: it was part of the game, but it becomes an obligation :ill:

Protect newbies is a good idea, but as a result, actually raiders just can't play "as usual", and will be forced to make mines, explo, etc... like agressive minors...
    Is that the raiders death?
Do GF really only wants short live Uni with plenty agressive minors who pay for play ?
  • When I looked at the honorary chart in the news thread, I thought it still functions and autosave is possible even after 500k.
Is it or is it not? Cause I see no reason why it should be :)
Cargoes count at 25% of SI? Recyclers too? And are they at 25% for the attacker too?

Now, as far as voting goes...count defense in. And, IMO, even at more than 100%, since defensive structures are more SI-effective in a fight, than a fleet.
I mean, the defender already gets his defense repaired to most part, and his fleet/defense composition isn't going to be more than 5 times weaker than attacker's fleet. It'd be barely profitable with 30% debris to send 1:5, specially since good part of the attacks miss the target and deuterium costs are high. Then, with admiral, it's less than 1:5...do count defense in :(
If hunting for fleets gets unprofitable, we're just going to plunder them to death while crushing the defenses down to 0 so that we get better odds. Preferably with RIPs, but supporters with "free" IM's work too. As if that wouldn't make beginners give up playing :S
  • I think defences should be allowed for in the ratio

1). Atm, people can send an attacking fleet of 6:1 to steal res, where the cargo's on planet would act as fodder letting the defences pummel them, then the fleet dissapears and now the defences get hammerred, losing your precious resources

2). Goes the other way too, with heavy defences and alot of cargo's, you need a very large fleet to nail the defences to crash the cargo's, but all that will happen is the cargo's will lift off and you lose out on alot of profit

Maybe a new style ship designed for bashing defences, but is still cheap to build, but has rf on defences up to heavy laser

Maybe base it on an sc, but needing the impulse drive, a higher tech on ion, say 7 or 8, and shield tech like on the recs.

    Ion bomber rapid fire
    5 on rl
    4 on ll
    3 on hl
Maybe a low fire power, about the same as the heavy fighter and shields/cargo capacity like the bs

Maybe thicken the armour to the same as the large cargo and slow it down to a little faster than the bomber

i have no idea on how much it would cost to build though, i wouldn't know how to work it out, but it could be a similar ship to the battle cruiser, but against defences, it could help balance out the problem of people having their cargo's lifting off planet while under heavy defences
  • Actually, tactical retreat doesn't work on bandits, does it? Chances are everyone with a fleet will soon be a bandit.
It actually gives you a lot of - points if you kill a fleets. Like I just got -150 for one battle where I killed something more than just cargoes.
If that's how it is...then autofleet save will work only for those who don't fly at all.
Unless someone comes up with an easy way to get honor points, ofc. (but considering that honor points give you 75% plumber, no such easy way should exist)
