Valent - It can't be avoided, but it can be made harder

At least having an email registration, password, email confirmation, etc., are additional steps that may dissuade the easiest cheating.

This way, nothing stops a person with 2.000 friends on Facebook to post a link and say "hey, vote option X please". It's just two clicks anyway.

It can.
Depends on the work you are willing to put on.

Start with Only Accounts above age x can vote.

After that find a solution to link board accounts to ingame accounts or even go as far as everyone who votes has to write a PN where he plays so you can check wether its more likely a real vote or not + check ingame <=> board email

Or do it simply; Finally solve that kind of things ingame. Especially with the lobby it should be a good possiblitiy for votes.

In Physics, when there are several theories that explain experimental data, the simplest theory is usually the correct one ... Why are not "likes" used in the thread itself as a voting system?. Simple, elegant and public.

As an alternative, in Spain it is said "the dog is dead, the rage is over", I hope it is understood.

And people could actually see the pages in contest to, who knows, maybe vote on the one they think it's best.

In consideration of how much entries we got, and how much ppl actually clicked the link to the voting post, it rly seems like there are "some" fake votes...

Not to discourage you, but those who want to cheat will always find a way to do it .

it seems that most locations of the tor browser have already voted

What a shit show.

Ye you can find a way to manipulate always, but you can make it hard(er) at least and put in some burdens which can't be overcome the same day you put that "contest" online.

But you can make it much more hard to do it, which will discourage the cheaters - which is kinda the point I guess.

This contest was turned into a joke, look at the poll results and check it. Even I made a test just for fun and voted 3 times in a row in one of the lowest voted entries using a VPN and an incognito browser, all 3 votes were accepted immediately. If I wanted to spend 24h voting I could. Probably some people are already doing it.

And me was worried about people calling friends to vote for their proposal (rather than looking around and voting freely the most attractive page). But now it seems that it's done even without friends. This is the way to go

He way made more votes in the last 2 hrs than everyone out of the top 5 combined

Some people start from a rather childish concept error: they must always win the best option, the best design, the best politician, the best ...

If you review the history of humanity, it will be proven that rarely win the best option.

The most normal thing is for the stronger to win or the better to play his cards, however bad they may be.

why wasnt the contest part of the newsletter that was released while the contest was running?

The contest was an Origin Contest. Is normal no to be part of the newsletter . Maybe it is a good idea to ask Gameforge to include our events in future newsletters.
Gameforge was kind to provide the prizes , as they do for all communities that are making contests.

I think it's a good idea to include them in the newsletter, then there is also more content for the newsletter
