      1. A short text introducing the Wiki itself (what's this, what do you can find here, and a general link to Origin)
      2. Links to basic tuts
      3. Links to guides & advanced tuts (whe available)
      4. Links to specific matherial that can helps the player (such us, FAQs, troubleshooting, and that kind of stuff)
      5. List of Origin links pointing to places where the Wiki user can suggest new contents, offers to help us, etc)
      6. List of national team taking care of the Wiki content of a given community.

I should replace the last item with a listing of the national gameteam and how to contact them.
If someone clicks on help ingame he needs some kind of help, the national wiki-team isn't important for those players. The national gameteam is.

I've talked about this with Francolino and maybe we can read the info of the national gameteam from ogame itself or the comatool, so this information is always up2date.

Another thing i would like to see there is an rss-feeds with news from the national boards. If there is something important to know for players, it will be posted in the news-section of the national board. So players can see this info and go to the board when they click on the shown newsitem.

irclog of my conversation with Francolino about this

      (+PitA) Francolino ?
      (@Francolino) Kramagon problem solved :)
      (@Francolino) Pita ?
      (+PitA) Something about the wiki
      (@Francolino) yeah :)
(+PitA) I was thinking about the communitie main_page
(@Francolino) good or bad news ?
(@Francolino) those with the names ?
      (+PitA) Just an idea :P
(@Francolino) yes, i talked some weeks ago with you about it ..
(+PitA) Well, more the "national" page
      (@Francolino) ah ok
(+PitA) The mainpage for each community
      (+PitA) The board has rss-feeds right ?
(@Francolino) we can enable it yes
      (@Francolino) well Mainpage suggestions
(@Francolino) i think we should use this
      (@Francolino) Let me shortly explain
(@Francolino) This is at first a Help Wiki
(@Francolino) so the users clicks on the link and have something to search or read
(+PitA) Sure, but my idea was to show the latest news from the national board by importing it through rss
(@Francolino) Thats why we should offer such a text to support them here
      (@Francolino) ah ok
      (@Francolino) yes sure
(+PitA) Just external links to the board, so you don't have to make news twice
(@Francolino) Hmm not really sure if the board has a RSS module
(@Francolino) but i can ask wth
      (@Francolino) right now i don't find it
(+PitA) It would be a very nice feature to have
(+PitA) If there are problems, they are mostly posted on the board
      (@Francolino) yes
(+PitA) And if a player clicks on help they see this news
(@Francolino) yes we have had something in mind like this on the beginning .)
(+PitA) RSS would be nice, or maybe some other connection to the board
(+PitA) I don't think admins would like to post things twice :P
      (@Francolino) sure.
(@Francolino) i think we get support form wth here
      (@Francolino) *from
(+PitA) I'm sure he likes this idea :P
(@Francolino) how to submit news is a continous discussion in game design
(+PitA) If you see the wiki as help, then we could add al those things to the mainpage players want to know if they have a problem
(@Francolino) Sure, the first and main task is to help the users.
(@Francolino) do you have another point of view ?
(+PitA) That could be latest boardnews, serverstatus/responsetime, ticket-system
(@Francolino) Hmm sounds like something for wiki part two :)
(+PitA) Ticketsystem could be just a link
      (+PitA) With a little explanation
(@Francolino) And a link to the tickets guides :)
      (@Francolino) there are some
(+PitA) Serverstatus/responsetime would be a nice to have so players can see if serveres are really laggy at that time
(@Francolino) pita about all those links and team member ..
(@Francolino) i asked you if it is possible to create a database for it
(@Francolino) right now it's complicated to maintain them
(@Francolino) or do you have a idea to make it easier ?
(@Francolino) or ... at least this all should only up to one mate ..
(@Francolino) this is the other solution
(+PitA) Well, i don't think a database should make it easier
      (@Francolino) ok, ... yes
(+PitA) We could create some templates so it's easy to change
(@Francolino) the point is, when all repr. have edit access this never is OK
(+PitA) We could use something like the current mainpage for showing the gameteams of the communities
(+PitA) And i don't think someone from DE would change the NL page
      (@Francolino) ok
      (@Francolino) let's try
(+PitA) You only need 2 things from a go, it's nick and it's emailaddress
      (@Francolino) sure
(+PitA) So we could create a template where you can specify the universe-name, go's and sgo
(+PitA) Admins could be named seperate because the are not universe-bound
(@Francolino) Pita i think we can include the AJAX team page
      (@Francolino) from the game server
      (+PitA) Is that one up2date ?
(@Francolino) yes, it's updated from the comatool
(@Francolino) you see it on the login page
      (+PitA) I've seen it yes
      (@Francolino) Hmmmm
(+PitA) It could be useful, but we would also need the emailadresses
      (@Francolino) Hmmmm
(@Francolino) this is something for later
(+PitA) We can always start with a manual page
(+PitA) And make an extenstion for it later
      (@Francolino) Yes.
(+PitA) I think showing the teamoverview on the wiki, makes it a lot easier for players to see who they need to contact
(+PitA) A lot of players don't know you to find them
(+PitA) The orange A option ingame is nice, but it also is confusing
(+PitA) Because of the GF accounts also shown orange
      (@Francolino) Hmm
      (@Francolino) pita .. owiki.battleworld.nl/Main_Page i miss the special page
(@Francolino) and, do you remember the other main page with the entrence text ?
(+PitA) You mean the link to it ?
      (@Francolino) yes
      (@Francolino) ah you removed it
      (+PitA) Special:Pages i thought
      —› error: unknown command (SPECIAL:SPECIALPAGES)
      (+PitA) /Special:SpecialPages
      (@Francolino) Special:SpecialPages
      (@Francolino) yes
      (@Francolino) owiki.battleworld.nl/Welcome/
(@Francolino) and ofc there is already an ES translation :P
      (+PitA) :P
(+PitA) Maybe we should move this page to the about
(@Francolino) this is more or less a news to introduce the wiki
(@Francolino) but the other text in board becomes later the main page
      (@Francolino) .. for each com
(@Francolino) and at the end the team
(@Francolino) Cass writes a new text soon
(@Francolino) is Main_Page fix the main page ?
      (+PitA) Yes
(@Francolino) ok, so we have to swap it )
(@Francolino) the current one as "Team_Page
(@Francolino) the team is not such important
(+PitA) We can always put a link to the team-page into the footer
      (@Francolino) Yes :)
(@Francolino) Pita you have to use the point of view from the users ..
      (+PitA) Sure
(@Francolino) they click on help when they need something . no one want to read again and again the team member .)
(+PitA) And if they wanna know who created it, they can see a link in the footer ;)
(+PitA) The Main_Page should have the information i mentioned earlier
(@Francolino) no change :P AntiGameOrigin by Francolino includes already my nick .. but most of all users don't know who created it :PPP
(@Francolino) Yes with this text Mainpage suggestions
(@Francolino) As said, Cass writes a new text
(+PitA) Yes, and then we could add the extra things
      (@Francolino) :)
(+PitA) Then we have a good start-page for the users
(+PitA) The main page should be some kind of portal-page
(+PitA) With info how to get support and where to find info on the wiki
      (@Francolino) Yes
    • I would include both lists then.
Game team will be not related (probably) with the wiki content, so if sth is wrog in the translation, text or whatever, they will be able to contact with Origin loca team in charge and they'll change/modify it asap ^^
So, both lists are important for the user and for the wiki itself :)
    • Hello,

Listing some Basic tutorial might be twice, because they are in the left menu on the top. But it's a good idea to show the most important ones.

An explanation of Basic and Advanced tutorials is senseful:

      Basic Tutorials:

      - Basic explanations to get an overview about the game the gameplay. ....

      Advanced Tutorials:

      - The advanced tutorial / tactics explains the given topic in detail ....
    • Francolino wrote:

Yes, that occurred to me too. I still think it´s an good idea to put them on the mainpage too because then users can actually read that those are the important guides. Then users know they reading the right stuff :)

Sure, I totally agree. I meant to say: Where are the advanced guides on the Wiki? (I read that they will be added later on ... so I guess I´ll just wait :P )
