That's as right as it gets sadly. Without antigame it's really impossible to play at this point. I would prefer not to stay on 35 forever, but if I have to, then I will, because I simply can't play seriously without it. Just too many small improvements, in addition to some massive ones, that just make the game easier.

What are the odds of francolino joining a secret elite Anonymous movement, and preparing the world for a revolution? Last activity is suspiciously on November the 5th. But seriously, anyone heard for how long he would be gone when he was leaving? Or where he'd be going? I understand vacation, but not even logging in for 4 months is disturbing. Anyone with RL contact options that could give him a call or something?

PostToo many people buy the commander, and thus DM, just because of this feature. They were nice and gave people RSS for free, when it was commander only earlier. They won't do that again, no corporation would cut their profits that much just for looks.

When I send out my probes, the first probe after the refresh in the galaxy view always returns "An error occured". It never happened so systematically, so I assume it's your script. (After disabling it, there's no error) Maybe disable this for the galaxy view as well? I seem to lack fleet movement window in galaxy view anyway, though it probably is just me.

Still, it would almost never see any use, since it's extremely unlikely one will be able to afford 2 researches at the time, unless you did it on purpose, which wouldn't be good, since you could've started the 1st one earlier. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea, just don't see who would use it. When something takes months, with all your labs, you most certainly don't want to wait more than that for it to finish, and it's most likely going to drain all your res to start.

Useless, it would be better to just finish one research and start the other, if only to get its benefits faster. And since researches increase in cost fast, when you reach IRN 7 (and have 8 planets with good labs), chances are you won't be able to afford 2 big researches at the same time, and you'll reach the cost of the second as the first one finishes. Basically, adds customization, but is pointless otherwise. Coming from someone with an IRN 10.

Save messages
PostStrictly legally speaking, in my opinion, it should be allowed (assuming you want to display the messages in the message window in-game). Since what you would do, is keep the messages forever, rather than extend the time to 7 days (commander). However I'd like to point out to you that you might just want to use RSS. All messages come up on it, and if you use an RSS reader you should be able to keep the contents after they expire from the RSS feed. Thunderbird does this, at least for me. You'll h…

Vmode for DM!
PostHow about just implementing a timer that doesn't allow the player to start another v-mode right after going out of v-mode? Putting a 24h timer would help, at least. No one legitimately using v-mode will need to v-mode right after leaving v-mode, since they wouldn't have left in the first place. And in those rare exceptions, there is a great invention called account sitting, where one can have a friend put the account in v-mode once the timer is up.

PostJust because I believe many are asking themselves, what was the thinking behind this update? From what I see, the biggest benefit will be for the normal speed unis, however it's also in those that reaching this level is least likely. I have an abnormal lab level, use technocrat, and it'll still take ~3 months to reach ID17 from ID14. I can't imagine this being easier for more normal people.

PostAh, now I see I made a small mistake with my base speed calculation. I forgot to add the 20% base times 17 in impulse drive (and 30% times 15 in hyperdrive) in addition to base, and got a wrong result. Earlier I just divided by the drive level. Now I'm getting results I expected. Base speed with impulse is 4000, and with hyperdrive it is 6000.

PostFor those who wonder about the base speed change, here are the values I came up with after doing some speed comparisons with other ships at the same distance. Recycler speed when at impulse 17: 17595 Base speed: 5175 Recycler speed when at hyperdrive 15: 32625 Base speed: 7250 I'm fairly certain these are correct, as that's what lines up using the formulas, however these base speeds aren't exactly standard if you ask me, especially the impulse one, so I'm not completely sure.

PostI have to agree with brot on this, at least a little. For a 20 minute boost, another 100k deut seems too much. Though I assume that the deut cost doesn't change during the drive change, which would make this just mechanical and not really up for discussion. Overall I like the idea, and will have to push impulse 17 up in my plans.

PostI'd rather approve of the activation part. And instead of making the activation cost 500DM to activate, maybe there should be a timer that to v-mode within a day or two would cost DM to start. Or, if you ask me, there should be a 24 hour timer on v-mode that would make v-mode inaccessible without paying for DM, so people who legitimately use it, can use it, and those who are v-mode warriors are forced to actually wait at least one day before going back into v-mode. So I kept away from the panel until today, and after realizing how it could help me in farming I started to put in all my farms there. However, I see no way to sort them by coordinates, they're all sorted by player name. It means for me that I need to look through the list hard to make sure that I didn't miss anything, which would be a lot more work than it could take if this was implemented (I have a lot of farms). Considering the amount of res that the dens protect, they won't be used, ever, by anyone except for the early stages in a new uni. Most likely not even then (res better used on other things). If they go offline after the player has gone inactive, this would definitely not cause any issues, but be accepted by most. For example, people could set up deut dens on their moons to be sure they have some deut to move a fleet around on them, bandits can have that completely stolen all the time, or if sai…

That... is a good idea, however it would have to be advertised well, and be somewhat special. A x1 uni would definitely be unsuccessful. Orion in .us has kind of failed, as it opened 11 days ago and has just around 1,5k players. Maybe a 2x speed with 50% DF or def to DF would work. That or a 5x speed, heard they're player magnets.

Well, it's more or less what it is now, especially with the recent domain change that moved everything to gameforge.com. Maybe instead of doing this, letting people choose a language in-game for the UI and an addition to the rules that while the language used in-game has to be English/other local language, the rule doesn't apply if both users agree on speaking another language. Not sure if that should be extended to alliance external areas. Overall, good idea, though it kind of is working alread…
