  • Couldn't we introduce a rule that says something like: "Trading below 2,8:1,8:1 is forbidden?" Instead of modifying the merchant, we modify us. That way, almost everybody has the same rates for all resources. Nobody will buy/sell to make profit, but because he needs that type of ress.

    What's the latest info about ongoing researches? My ongoing research is running for 26 days now and needs 70 days more to be finished. If merging occurs in 8 weeks (56 days), will my research be aborted?   • I see it this way: It's impossible to make a "noob protection" that will be equally effective for new and old unis. So these ideas could be good, because it is said that this protection will be implemented in all unis, but parameters can be changed. That way, "noob protection" could do it's job through all stages of an uni, because parameters would be altered on some regular basis. Are announced parameters good for a new uni? Seems not.   • Opening new uni-s doesn't attract enough players. Merging existing ones does. So if GF eventually wants to merge all unis in one, the question would be, how long would it take and what kind of "noob protection" would help to smoothe the transitions.

    The problem with RIPs behind defense is the amount of debris they leave behind when they fall. This greatly improves possible profit of the attacker. Starcrusher's price is made high with deuterium (higher than Destroyer's in 3:2:1 ratio), but the SI is kept low. It makes ship pretty vulnurable, but also has small debris field. Because it's a ship, it fires before defense fodder and allows even small units to damage the RIP. That's why I like the idea. Shield is probably to high. I don't like th…
