About Ion, I res save in deconstruction but i dont try to keep ion low. You can save so much res in mine Construction. the deconstruct is used to build up to that. the point of decon is that its cheap and accessible. ion helps with this. i have ion 13 on a 96 mil points account. i got it to take down a big building. Ion Level 12 definitely payed back.

defense builds up on old inactive unis, like the shell of a dead crab that doesnt decompose. If bunkers were any tougher they would be overpowered. They dont have to last for ever to be useful. That was a necessary counter suggestion. When we fix merchant will we still want to lower deut costs of rec-ing. find the real sources of imbalance and correct at the root. as to resource balancing, find fixes and balancing that you can be really sure of, then give it some time. you cant fairly merch met/crys into deut. that's a clear game imbalance. when its fixed we can see where we're at. ADDED: the res save thing was such a tangent sorry : P

Part of every game change is to update the docs. the ingame help and descriptions. the change to recycler drive was never updated in game help. even worse, it was partially updated so it looked like it was good info. i checked it and it looked like it was updated well enough. I heard there was more to it but i thought, there's the info. I trust in the official word. where in-game does it say recyclers use more fuel on drive change. complete this game change by updating the game docs. This thread…

I dont do big fleet play, but my opinion... Something good: more cargo space means players are less likely to save res in structures, so theres more raidable res in cargos saves. i dont notice lack of cargo space cuz i do the res save in structures. But when i do notice a shortage i crank out another 10k LC cuz they're cheap as hell. I would leave cargo space alone or at least not change with techs. If you really have to do this, only change per 4 tech levels. === fix the res saving in structure…

Deuterium sensor
Postadding a new unit isn't easy. you can achieve the same effect by making excess energy convert to deut (at a poor rate). turtles would be buffed. the sat crashing would be epic. I don't like that hot planets could make more deut from this. though at least in a different way than cold planets. [hot planets need a buff, though there's simpler fixes than this.]

PostThis thread is kinda scary. Trying to keep it in one place. - The fleet update code takes an extra refresh to update displays. eg when you complete attack and watch from galaxy, the galaxy viewer cant remove attack crosshairs and add star in same refresh. sometimes you refresh screen certainly after ships reinforce a location, and it takes an extra refresh to see the additional ships. some have claimed there's lag and recyclers dont work 1 second after your hit, on occasion. to anyone affected b…

New redesign
PostRealisticly these very intemperate planets would have mostly synthetic crews working the mines, to save on life support costs. Put a picture of a smokey black terminatoresque mining operation with lava in the background. Please dont add population and cities. Everyone will bitch about how you cant kill and raze em and the devs will make it a thing. It's not the graphical update you were hoping for. You'll wish it was just numbers.

Anytime you make something distance based it adds dimension to gameplay. If you just FS'd, change your mind and want to play, you could recall fs without paying as huge a cost. some might not like making fs easier and more convenient. fsing is hard enough. this avoids the issue of mislaunches where you screw up a big launch and have to recall and try again. opinions will differ on this. you can still have a minimum deut cost even for recalled mission.

i posted a set of suggestions in my wishlist thread to make the messaging system faster and easier to use. you may've noticed deleting messages speeds things up. i dont like doign this. sometimes i delete transport and other tab when i havent done any trades. i share CRs and reuse spy data. you have to delete all at once, you cant save the ones from last 24 hours so i never do it because i need my recent messages.

not hard to implement. create new page, look up biggest of each asset using MAX(). print it out with the players name. === allow players to share their mine incomes publicly and possibly rank by various criteria: total res, value of res, or rank by res type separately. === if it gives away too much info when youre sat crashed, theres work arounds but ranks always reveal who gets hit.

currently energy is balanced. sats are something to smash but fairly cheap. they allow you to progress faster at the price of fragility. fusion is capable of making enormous energy, for anyone getting ritually sat crashed. (and there's a tech for it.) laser tech needs something, but something better.

i dont use amortization calculators, the mental math is why i liek the game. I use em to check my own logic for insight. Amortization calculators let you put in your own res ratio. what more can you want for mines. getting payback for energy tech to save on upgrading fusion reactors, thats what i'd liek to know : ) but if you use fusion both are so important. I have fusions at 20. 21 is pricey. only some of my planets need fusion so it was tempting to upgrade individual reactors. (20 is pretty h…

PostSome wont enjoy the reset, but many will. Some players join new uni's with intention of playing for years. those players will still have new regular universes (non resetting). resets should set everyone totally equal, excepting dm and dm items. It's about competition and earning your medals.
