My flashbacks:
- No activity while on the moon
- 200+ fields while colonizing positions 1-3, 13-15
Again there is a logic in colonizing these slots - Farming with es. probes
- No Battlecruisers what makes battleship the king on the throne again
- Old price of battleship
- No Astrophysics
- Beautiful interface, beatiful pictures!
- Statistics updating only 3 times a day and those moments at the start of the universe where you are w8ing for update to find out how it went so far during last 8h in comparison to other players
- Probably one ship = one fleet point in statistics (turtles does not confuse and easy to find out who's researching Deathstars)
- And the most important - No DM!

It's the feeling of the entire game now that takes me back ten years. Times were different then

getting the gravitons for the 1st time
then building a deathstar
just to see it smashed overnight :C

Many flashbacks to remember about a seven year experience on several french universe.
To name a few :
- A few weeks after the start of a universe, we experimented a power failure on my campus while everyone in our ally was raiding, at a time when phones were not connected to anything -and not everybody had a portable phone anyway, 2005 truth -. Me and some friends also playing from the same campus were all destroyed in one night, and we were top 200 players and all with ambition to reach top 100 or higher. Obviously we had to wait another 6 month at minimum ^^. At least some moons came out of this situation 8).
- first raids to loss (war time, dissuasion)
- first moons and first moonbreaks
- the numerous situation with too few hours of sleep -or none- while being in class
- first forum moderation and first IRC / msn strategic talks ( /me is reading bashfr
)
et cetera !

Well try for fourth time to settle a colony and waste precious deut,only to find out somebody stuck their fat ass half hour before you...strictly from that point of view,i dont miss it very much

I agree. Started in 2005 once polish servers were gradually start opening.
Number of players was just incredible - 14-20k on each server
Played till 2008 when I got new job and couldn`t manage to keep an eye on fleets and that so stopped.
Lack of DM or Commander was really great. Every one had equal chance and achievements were depending on skills and devotion to the game not from fat wallets. Very time consuming though but I had a privilege to play with really good and considerable people.
Missing these times a lot.
It is spot on idea to create such a server and great advantage of it is that it is international.
I found it very interesting to meet people from around the world.
