PART 1

Para los pequeños, medianos y grandes aventureros.

Xhenon y Arzorth presentan:

Percentages:
• If we send 1h expeditions, the chances of obtaining the "Nothing" event are 15%.
• If we send many hours expeditions (it's unknown how many), the chances of obtaining the "Nothing" event are 0%.
• If we send several hours expeditions, the chances of obtaining the "Nothing" event are between 15% and 0%.
(Assuming that with 19 hours the chances of obtaining the event "Nothing"are 0%)
Benefits:
• With one hour expeditions (15% chance), the average theoretical benefits are 130k for each expedition.
• With many hours expeditions (0% chance), the average theoretical benefits are 153k for each expedition.
• With several hours expeditions (between 0% and 15% chance), benefits will be between 130k and 153k for each expedition.
(Assuming that with 19 hours benefits are around 153k for each expedition.)
Flight times:
• Assuming that we send 1 hour expeditions, each complete expedition would last:
1/2 hour going + 1 hour during the expedition + 1/2 hour returning = 2 hours for each expedition (approx).
With 10 expeditions we would invest a total of 20 hours.
• Assuming that we send 19 hours expeditions, each complete expedition would last:
1/2 hour going + 19 hours during the expedition + 1/2 hour returning = 20 hours for each expedition (approx).
With 1 expedition we would invest a total of 20 hours.
Resoults
• The benefits of the first case would be:
10 Expeditions * 130k for each Expedition = 1.300k = 1,3 M.
• The benefits of the second case would be:
1 Expedition * 153k for each Expedition = 153k.
This means that investing the same amount of time, with longer duration expeditions we obtain lesser benefits.
In the other hand, when we send many expeditions to the same position, the solar system (ss) gets saturated, increasing the chances of obtaining the "Nothing" event to the point of approximate 80%.

If we send a spy probe, the result of the expedition will include a register, this will sow us how saturated the ss is.

To avoid saturation, it is enough to send simultaneous expeditions from planets located in different ss, however, it is posible that our neighbours are saturating the system, in this case we will migrate our expeditional fleet to other planets.

Conclusion:
• 8.1. Send several expeditions of 1h is more effective than sending one long expedition.
• 8.2. It would be effective to send long expeditions during the night, wile we sleep.
• 8.3. It is not a good idea to saturate solar systems, so we will send expeditions from planets that are far and between.
• 8.4. It is a good idea to send a spy probe to check the saturation of the solar system.

Hostiles

Nada

Nuestra flota no encuentra nada.

45 - 60 · 5/3 = 45 - 100 = -55 ---> 0

Conclusión:

***** Recommended Fleet *****

------------------------------ o ------------------------------
---- TOP 1 POINTS -------- EP LIMIT --- RECOMMENDABLE FLEET - NAME

--------------- o ---------------

Qualitative analysis of fleets

There are several fleet configuration, each of them with their advantages and disadvantages:

Large Cargo Fleet (NGC)
-------- TOP 1 POINTS ----------- EP LIMIT ----- LARGE CARGO FLEET-----

Is the most profitable fleet till today, it is optimized to reduce losses.
• Advantages: few ones losses and found fleet won't have null value.
• Disadvantages: it doesn't allow us to get strongerfleet than Heavy Fighter.
Its use is so much advisable, to most circumstances.

Bomber Fleet (BB)
-------- TOP 1 POINTS ---------- EP LIMIT ------ BOMBER FLEET ----

Is the forerunner of the previous one, is optimized to get more fleet variety.
• Advantages: find more variety of fleet, including destroyers.
• Disadvantages: has substantial losses and found fleet would have null value.
Its use is less advisable, because the only advantage is to find big fleet that could be built by using the benefit resoures of the other fleet.

(Note: With Hyperspace Drive at level 8 or less is useless because bomber do the mission so slowly.)
(Note: Damage increase is caused by bomber vs aliens.)

Small Cargo Fleet (NPC)
-------- TOP 1 POINTS ----------- EP LIMIT ----- SMALL CARGO FLEET-----

Is the most profitable and fastest fleet till nowadays, is optimized to get high speed, and also is the best to the 200 EP (Expedition points, EP) limit.
• Advantages: Is very fast and found fleet without null value.
• Disadvantages: it has hight losses and doesn't allows to gain better fleet than the Light fighter.
Its use is only advisable if you make many expeditions every day (because of its speed).

(Note: It can be combined with Large Cargo fleet (NGC). In active moments we can use Small Cargo Fleet and inactive moments Large Cargo Fleet.)

Large Cargo Fleet till 200 PE. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (Click to watch)

To gain a 200 Expedition Points (EP) is enough to send only 1 spaceship (anyone) the problem is that it cannot take every possible reward.

For the 200 Expedition Points (EP) the maximum reward is 40k metal, and with only one Small Cargo (NPC) we only have the capacity to take 5k. To earn 40k we need 8 Small Cargo (NPC) but this one is more expensive, we need to get a balance between capacity and cost

Making theorical calculations we get the following results:

We can see that while we increase the number of Small Cargo (NPC), earnings and amortization decrease. Is interesting the 2 Small Cargo Fleet (NPC) because generates better earnings than 1 Small Cargo Fleet (NPC) but is more expensive (x2), so its amortization is slower.

If you use the 1 Small Cargo Fleet(NPC), with 2 expeditions you will get back the fleet investment, while with the 9 Small Cargo Fleet (NPC) you will need 25 expeditions

A similar study with Large Cargo Fleet (NGC) results an amortization of 20% in the best case, instead of 67% of the fleet of 1 Small Cargo Fleet (NPC) that make them less advisable.

This is the reason that we recommend the 1 Small Cargo Fleet for the limit of 200 Expedition Points (EP)

Recommendable Small Cargo Fleet Use (NPC) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (Click to watch)

Small Cargo Fleet (NPC) is only recommendable when the diary expedition number is really high.
This configuration increases loses regarding to Large Cargo Fleet (NGC), reducing expedition benefits around 6k.

This lost can be rewarded because the flight time is reduced 25% approxymately, and also a 15% in expedition time (only if the expedition is for 1 h). This able us to send 1 or 2 expedition mission por day, increasing benefits between 300k and 900k approximately per day.

All estimates are approximately, because depend on technologies, engines we have, and also in the Expedition number made per day.

The use of this fleet is recommendable in a mix mode:
• If we hace time to be in front of our PC, the best way is to send Expeditions with Small Cargo Fleet (NPC) (showing care in the return time) with we can do 1 or 2 more waves depending on time we have.

• If we have to go, is better to send the expeditions with Large Cargo Fleet (NGC) , increasing benefits per expedition.
In this way we can squeeze benefits with Small Cargo Fleet (NPC) and minimize negative aspects.

Results

Now we can see the results of every kind of fleet, by collecting expeditions or in a theoric way extrapolating this collected data.

Empirical results

With 1.000 expeditions with Bomber Fleet (Bb) and the limit of 12.000 Expedition Points (EP) we had this results:

With 8.500 expeditions with Large Cargo Fleet (NGC), with 12.000 Expedition Points (EP) we had this results:

Theoric results

As we get efficience with one fleet and a bigger number of expeditions, we can get this in a theoric way. For this is important to have some concepts:
• Using percentage approxymately values of events in the section "Event probability".
• Calculating average loses per hostile encounters by simulating.
(Note: Results got by this method are differ to empiric results in a 1%.)

We would use the limit of 25.000 Expedition Points (EP) as an example:

Resources and Ships
With the limits of resources and the distribution of probability of variants (S/M/L)=(89%/10%/1%) is calculated the value obtained in each of the following resources:

In the case of Metal:
• 90% of the time we will have a variant S, with a minimum of 250 k and a maximum of 1.250 k, on average 750 k.
• 9% of the time we will have a variant M, with a minimum of 1.300 k and a maximum of 2.500 k, on average 1.900 k.
• 1% of the time we will have a variant L, with a minimum of 2.550 k and a maximum of 5.000 k, on average 3.775 k.
On average, we will get: 750 k · 89% + 1.900 k · 10% + 3.775 k · 1% = 895 k of Metal.

Following the same procedure we get 448 k of Crystal, 298 k of Deuterium and 386 of Dark Mater.
Similar calculations applied to found ships gives us 448 k de IE (structural integrity).

Hostile
With the simulations done it against the six types of hostile ships (pirates, aliens, S/M/L) and it's distribution of probabilities we get the following losses:

In case of Aliens, with lv17 of technology:
• 89% of the time we will have a variant S, with losses of 0 Large Cargo Ship and 0 Espionage Probes, with a value of 0 k.
• 10% of the time we will have a variant M, with losses of 45 Large Cargo Ship and 0.11 Espionage Probes, with a value of 540 k.
• 1% of the time we will have a variant L, with losses of 12 Large Cargo Ship and 0.03 Espionage Probes, with a value of 144 k.
(Note: The decimal value indicates the probability of losing the Espionage Probe.)

On average we get: 0 k · 89% + 540 k · 10% + 144 k · 1% = 55 k of losses against the Aliens.

Following the same calculus we get 1 k of losses against Pirates.

Other factors:
The losses that generates the "Total Lost" (Krzzz) and the average cost of deuterium (12 units of deuterium for each Large Cargo Ship)we obtain the benefits of the Expeditions (without taking in consideration the D.M. found).

In summary, with the limit of 25.000 PE, we get approximately 277 k per Expedition.

The other results are shown below:

As we can apreciate, amortizations are very similar in all cases, between a 6 and 5% of the cost of the fleet, wich means that approximately in 20 expeditions the investment on the ships would be recovered and we would begin to take benefits from the Expeditions.
Let's look at the Small Cargo Ship Fleet

As we can appreciate the Small Cargo Ship has 6k benefits less than the Large Cargo Ship and with a amortization of 5 and 4% less.

The limit of 200 PE represents an exception, giving us sn amortization of 67% that will help a lot on the begining of the new universes.
