      Hello everyone,
      I've been working for a year in this proposal. With it I try to solve the issue of depopulation. In addition, Gameforge could earn thousands of euros.
      This is a very serious and ambitious project; I hope you all will appreciate it.

      Introduction
      We are seeing how fast the old universes are losing players. The fusion of universes is just a partial solution. The active players of these universes are barely 500.
      The main reasons for the depopulation are:
      • Nobody wants to start from zero in an old universe, because, as much as he attempt to, he will never reach the level of the top 100
      • The players who are already in the universe start to run out of targets and gradually they leave their accounts
      This proposal gives a solution to the previous points, and also it could attract new players, so the old universes could recover:
      not start from 0


      How to implement it?
      1. Register: choose the option "Start with opening credits"
      2. Our Planet: The home planets are randomly placed throughout the universe.
      3. Our points:
        • 5% of the points of Top 1.
        • Another way to calculate the starting points:
          (Days since the beginning of the universe * 1200) = Account points.
      4. Our account: We will have a number of points in accordance with one of the previous formulas. The points will be invested instantaneously in what we select: buildings, research, or defenses. We could also invest to create colonies. You will not be allowed to invest in fleet.
        Note: We give you points, which will be spent on what we choose: Rocket Launcher 2 points; Research Lab 0.8 points at lvl 1.
      5. Play: There will be a button: "Finish Selection". After clicking on it, we will start to play.
      6. Action: At the beginning we will have a protection for newbies. But, when we exceed a limit of points, we will start fighting.

      What do we solve doing this?
      Essentially the depopulation of the universes, how?
      • Hundreds of new users would be attracted by these accounts
      • Solved the problem of not wanting to start from zero
      • Users of the old universes would no longer have problems to find targets and they won’t leave the universes by boredom.

      Benefit for Gameforge
      Thousand of euros.
      • Many new players would buy dark matter.
      • This will increase competitiveness. The game will become more famous. This will make more people play. More dark matter will be spent

      The problem of possible farms: FALSE
      • You cannot make multiple accounts
      • A special protection of newbies. Until not reached X points you cannot receive attacks.
      • The planets are randomly generated, so you can get your farm in g9 when you are in g1.

      What happens with players who have less than 5% of the top1’s points? Easy solutions:
      Firstly, they aren't more than 50 active players.
      Secondly, we can appreciate that if 5,000 (100 times more than 50) new users are registered, is a good recovery for an old universe.
      Here are the solutions to this problem:
      • Offer the possibility of obtaining a new account in the same way that it obtained the new players.
      • Give these players the possibility of receiving an aid of X resources.

    • First of all, I like the focus of your idea. I think something like this is useful to keep more players in OGame.

      The second formula is out of question. If an universe started 2 days ago, it would not be fair to start with 2400 points ... :P (I know, you are talking about "old unverses" here, but I can not find your definition of "old". :P )
      However, since the daily amount of points gained grows exponentially, a formula with a linear curve does not seem right ;)
      I think the first one is a good option.

      Furthermore, I got a question about the distribution of the points.
      For example: You got 1.000.000 points to invest.
      Are you able to select exactly in which way your points will be spend? I want metal mine 20, crystal mine 18, deut synthesizer 16 on planet A and metal mine 18, crystal mine 15, deut synthesizer 15 on planet B. 30 rocket launchers on planet A, 10 heavy lasers on planet B ... etc.

      An old universe for me is an universe that has started 1 year ago more or less :)

      Are you able to select exactly in which way your points will be spend? I want metal mine 20, crystal mine 18, deut synthesizer 16 on planet A and metal mine 18, crystal mine 15, deut synthesizer 15 on planet B. 30 rocket launchers on planet A, 10 heavy lasers on planet B ... etc.

      I have to say that this idea is just an example. OGame needs something like that. But, obviously, not exactly this.

    • Start a new account simplier and faster in old universes

      Often old universes are not "crowded" at all :D

      I think a good way to incentivize new players to play in old universes is to change the start level.

      I mean:

      instead of starting from 0 point, we could start a new game (reming: just in old or in very old universes) already with tot resources.

      To make possible the fast-start, the building, the researching and the travel time should be istantaneous (like gravi one e.g.).

      So I can colonize in a click tot colonies (decided by GF, depending on age of universe), and then I could choose how to use "my" resources:

      - tot researches

      - tot fleet

      - tot mines


      I think this could be a nice idea to revitalize old unis really fascinating, but impossible to play in, if you haven't an existent account (e.g. uni1.it)
