I think that these kind of mission's shouldn't be used for fleet-saving purposes. As it is removing any part of save-timing skill from the game.
My suggestion is;
- Remove the option to send ship on colonization before you have enough AF.
Alternatives:
-Limit number of points you can send
-Bring back the 'destroyed planet' when an attempt to colonize fails.
