Alliance and Community
Compendium
- Search for a fitting alliance so you can socialise with other like-minded players
- For Players who aren't in your alliance, there is the buddy list to work together
- In the Ogame Board you can have a talk with other Players about several OGame Themes or just all the world and his brother
You can have fun on OGame as a lone warrior, but after some time most players look for an alliance to work close together with other users. An alliance is a federation of players who have pooled together to be more successful. An alliance is not only useful to support each other with better trading rates or helping against attacks, it is also a nice spot where you have somebody to answer your questions or just have a chat.
How to find an alliance?
To find an alliance you can either click the galaxy menu to see which alliances are near to you, or you can have a look at the highscore list. Of course you also can ask players who you know to see if there is a free place for you in their alliance. The Universe-Area of the Ogame Board is a good place to look for alliances too, there's generally a thread for alliances to present themselves and search for new members.
When you find an alliance you would like to join, you have to click “alliance”, then “search alliance”. Here you can search for your chosen alliance and use the button to apply for it. Fill out the application and with a little luck you will soon be member of this alliance.
Alternatively you can also establish your own alliance. To do this, go to “alliance” and then “create alliance”. Then you have to create a Name and a Tag (mostly a shortcut fitting to the Name) and bring it into being, you are now the founder of your own alliance. Now you can start to attract other players to your alliance or you can first beautify your alliance area to make it more appealing to other users. You are not limited to using ‘normal text', it is also possible to use BBCode, which are also often used in forums. If you need a nice logo but don´t know how to make it, you can ask for help in the Fan Art-Area of the OGame Board. Be aware you have to respect the rules when creating your alliance area, any abusive or unlawful content can result in a ban.
Furthermore there are so-called alliance ranks that are created by the founder and can be given to individual members. Often this is used to mark new members or to honour deserved members of the alliance. Also it is possible to add special rights to the ranks, so the founder can dictate which members can edit the alliance area, accept new members or disband the alliance.
Buddy list
If you wish to stay in contact with players from other alliances and assist them in cases of emergency, you can add them to your buddy list. You can open it by clicking on the link at the top of your Screen. It shows the name, coordinates of the Homeworld and online-status for all your buddies. To add another user to your buddy list, you only have to click the respective button beside one of his planets in the galaxy overview. He will then be notified that you want him on your buddy list. If he accepts, he will appear in your Buddy list immediately – and you to his.
OGame Board
On board.ogame.org you can find the OGame Board, which is an important part of the community. Here is the place to talk about important OGame subjects, answering or asking Questions for new users and integrate into the Ogame community. Also there is the diplomatic area for trading applications, war declarations and pacts. Additionally there are several sub areas for OGame- or Non-OGame-Themes, where you can talk about everything from philosophy to computer problems.
IRC
IRC is a chat-network, which is used to talk free and directly with other users. To use it you have to either install an IRC-client or use one of the online IRC widgets and connect to the OGN-Server. How you can do this, is explained in the IRC help section of the OGame Board. After you've successfully connected to the IRC server there are a multitude of channels waiting to be discovered. At first there is the general OGame-channel (#ogame.org), and the universe-channels like #ogame.org-electra for example. In addition to these, many alliances also have their own channels where they talk to each other and plan their strategies.
A suggested improvement to the gramma and syntax -
Sorry ^^... Just to Remind you and ask who's translating this Chapter ... =)
Thanks in advance for your response -
If a fleet is more than 30 % slower than the union it will not be able to join. First of all if it is about an interception, at which it is important that the fleet union arrives exactly at the right time, the ACS-attack should be arranged accordingly. It will be the best, if the player, who has the longest flight time starts it. All the others can send their fleets, without reducing speed of the first fleet. At interceptions you also can save deuterium by timing with a single ship at first, and after that joining the combat fleet. Like that, if you have timed the attack in a wrong way, you will have to call back only one ship and not sending the whole fleet twice. You especially will have to pay attention, if the attack is cancelled. In that case, every player has to call back his own fleet manually – if only one fleet cancels the flight, the rest of the union will just continue. If the fleet, which starts the union, is called back, no other fleets will be able to join the union.
Red marked text replaced with :
If a fleet slowerdown the union more than 30 % it will not be able to join (eg. when the union should be arrive in 60 minutes, you can't join a fleet which takes more than 78 minutes (60 + 30%) ). -
Added your correct hint to the english template, thanks.

Just a small notice while we tell the maximum number of peolple in an acs defend we dot tell the maximum number for acs attack.....
-
There are no maximum of players that can join an ACS defend mission since those missions can´t be joined at all and as far as I can tell the maximum number of players and fleets that can join an ACS attack is already included in the tutorial.
It doesn´t really conern me since my community won´t be using the english version of the guide, but while I´m commenting on this I might as well say that the proofreading really needs to be done again because it´s still riddled with bad phrasings and spelling errors -
Please calm down.
You both are right but speak about different things.
There are at least the same limits of Player and Slots like for ACS - 5 player and 16 slots. For ACS defend they DONT join of course - They fly all for there own.
Regards -

Tutorial says :
A maximum four players are able to defend on a foreign planet / moon; all in all 15 fleets are possible.
I just saw it says about the maximum number of players that can participate in an acs attack and i was wrong about my notice but comments like this one....Azgaroth wrote:

i am sorry in advance for my bad comment on the tutorial :) -
No, I commented on the bad english in the guide because it says that it has already been spellchecked and I figured that the .org users for instance that will be using it, don´t want to have a tutorial with spelling errors and bad phrasings.
Please tell me, how doesn´t it help the community that I point out that a guide that is located in the "finished" section, that also says "spellchecked" still has alot of spelling errors?
There was nothing impolite whatsoever in my comment and frankly it pisses me off that I´m getting shit for very friendly pointing out that the guide needs another proofreading. Anyway, I will not be commenting on anything that doesn´t help my own community in the future. Problem solved. -
Nobody did the notice about the probes and the dome......

Sense corrections :
This option is more insecure as the saving to a debris field, because the fleet can not only be intercepted on the return path with the sensor phalanx, but also by an ACS defend on the attacked planet. -
adding a part to tell about rules and national clarifications like here board.ogame.org/board1-news/bo…rules-valid-from-17-5-10/

Even if you've read and understood the Tutorial, you might encounter further questions or problems about the game or community in the future. And so you should know where you an find some help and assistance so we'll try to cover this in our last chapter of the Tutorial.
What should I do if I have some Questions or Problems?
Because of OGame's very active and cooperative Community you can get helpful answers and tips very quickly by posting your question in the Game Help-board area which has been created for our users' questions. Before you start a new topic with your question you should first use the board's search function. Almost every question imaginable will have already been answered at least once. Another possibility is to ask other players or to visit the IRC Support channel. For more information about how to use IRC have a look at the topic "Alliances". For specific questions about the game join the support channel #ogame.tld-support where a supporter will try to help you. For general questions you can also use the public channels like #ogame.tld or your specific universe channel (i.e #tld.uni1)
What rules do I have to follow?
In Ogame there's a global set of rules which are common for each community, however each has it's own set of Clarifications so it's important to check the rules for the particular community you play in. The main set of rules can be found at the bottom of your Ogame page, and the community specific clarification can be seen by looking on the forums.
What happens if someone breaks the rules?
In order to maintain fairness and ensure game-play isn't disturbed there are a few rules that need to be followed. Ensure you read the rules at least once and then ask someone if you have any questions. If you break one of the rules you might get punished. Depending on the violation you will get a ban which is permanent or temporary and with or without vacation mode. Any kind of insult will result in a ban so remember to stay courteous when communicating with others ingame.
What can I do if I get banned?
If you get banned you should contact the responsible gameoperator. More information about the reason, the gameoperator who banned you, as well as the ban period can be found in the pillory. You may contact your gameoperator via the Ticketsystem or IRC. Please do not try to contact your GO via email, PM (board) or ingame message. When contacting your GO you should be careful with your language. In some cases it will be hard but being polite will go a long way to helping you get what you want ;). If you're not satisfied with the GO's decision you may contact the responsible SGO as well via ticketsystem or IRC.
How does the Ticketsystem work?
To open a new Ticket you have to go to support.ogame.tld. After clicking the "Contact support" Button you have to choose the right section. To discuss board issues or board bans - Select Board. To discuss any ingame issues, bugs, bans or to notify your GO of something - Select Game. To contact support regarding the purchase of Dark Matter or for payment issues - Select Payment. For Game issues you will need to Select the Universe that your issue is with.
To ensure that your ticket can be handled as fast as possible you should give all the necessary information and fill out all the details correctly. Take care that the email address is the same as on your ingame account. After submitting the ticket you will receive a confirmation email with a special key and checksum number. Your ticket should get a reply within 48hrs, when this happens you'll receive an email notification. To check your ticket click on "Ticket History" and fill in the form with the information you received in the first email. Click "Send reply" to answer the ticket, please do not open a new ticket for the same issue. If you're unhappy with the reply you've received and want to complain to the supporter's superior then click "complain" in the ticket and it will be escalated to the next level. -
Green is new added :
There are several options ingame where you can change some aspects and settings of your account. You do not have to change anything to play OGame but some of them might be interesting for you. For some more detailed information on managing your account and keeping it secure see our Account management guide. -
Things I changed:
Removed: [This part is community specific. Check your community game rules and correct this part according to them] Any kind of insult will result in a permanent ban without vacation mode, in this case you can be attacked during the ban.
Replaced with: Any kind of insult will result in a ban so remember to stay courteous when communicating with others ingame.
Added: If you're unhappy with the reply you've received and want to complain to the supporter's superior then click "complain" in the ticket and it will be escalated to the next level.
