      Terraformer10 costs a huge amount of resources so its pretty unlikely, that anybody will ever get near terraformer 11 oder 12.

      With this in mind your change will provide 5 extra fields. Thats just nothing. It changes nothing. The idea in this thread could change the terraformer in a way that you could colonize a Position13 Planet and - with ETech18 gaining 9 Fields per Terraformerlevel - you could actually use it. That means you could easily get a Planet with 110 fields (on Position 13) and improve it to 190 and therefore move to a Position 15. And that would be useful.
      Your change just changes NOTHING.


      I completely agree with this, atm no one uses slots 1-3 or 13-15 because of the low fields, we need ideas or planet sizes that allow people to make these locations work with research or building otherwise there is no point in having these slots. Apart from a grav run when have you seen players actually colonize a slot 1?

      I'm not a fan of new terraformer formula (I already wrote it earlier), and I agree with Arazern (it's not always the case): planets in positions 1-3 or 13-15 are not usable on the long term for mining, and only fleeters can use them for temporary colonies. In old design, at least colonies in pos 13-15 were usable...

      Or is it that GF doesn't want OGame universes to run for long? So that after 2 or 3 years (when all your planets are full), your only choice is to start a new universe? If it's the case, please tell me, I will go and plant some seeds in my garden...

      PS. WeTaHa, did you ever play OGame with a multi-10M points account? Based on your post, it seems that you don't realize the issue...

      Sorry for that sidekick, but the only time WTH or any other developer are touching their own Game is in some testing-speed-unis with 100 Billions of Ressources and 100x speed. Actually i'm pretty sure noone of them ever played a normal-speed-account from zero to top100.

      We got the chance here, to suggest new ideas directly to the "core" and we have the benefit that users like WeTeHa and others are reading here. Don't destroy this just for such "sidekicks".

      I already posted my opionion on this issue. And as I expected nobody from the team reacted to this in 4 days. I guess WTH posted the statement and thats it. They won't change it, 'cause they already did! :doofy:
    • Imho, terraformers should NOT give more or less fields depending on what size the planet is originally, to balance it up. Back in olddesign, there were planets with up to 324 fields, now 253 is the limit (and I've never seen one bigger than 247) so the need for a planned colonization is no longer very pratical. Besides, the bigger planets are no longer the ones in slots 4-5-6 but in slots 7-8-9, so terraformers need less sats to get same amount of energy. A bit confusing, but what I mean is that if the planets where the terraformer is needed are no longer the colder ones, then the fact they need less sats makes them easier to build in the smaller planets, thus balancing it up.
    • agreeing with you post zmerydrawgon but I think it is important to balance it so that you still don't want a 1-3 11-15 planet but if you have to get one you get a better size. something like 200+8*5 = 240 for the "normal" planets or 120+8*8 = 184. just as an example what I think.

    • Sorry for flaming guys, but this is somethnig unbelievable.
      New improvement to the terraformer is again one great joke from GF.
      Nothing has changed, positions 1-2 and 14-15 are still uneconomic to colonize.
      Those positions are just for fun. No supply for players, who want to invest theirs resources to have all planets in one system, or just to have what they want. This game is forcing to do only what the system can do - from beginning.

      This board offers many briliant suggestions to GF company, as they alone are unable to invent anything good (realy sorry for this statement).
      My god, adding ONE single bonus slot with each second level, is pure evil and incapability to bring something more clever as animated DarkMatter icon. And with the fact, that the normal player will newer ever achieve (except the speed unis) the 10th level of terraformer or above, degrades the whole idea to make it more sofisticated. You have so many possibilities GF to do it right, but you choose the most dying way. Why are we suggesting something, why ? You wil do it always this way.

      Well, the change is already running and I agree this is not the best way.
      I just got 4 more fields in my home planet and can't do anything to improve it.
      Oh well, better than nothing, I suppose...


      PS.: I was thinking about something to improve the original idea and realised that this formula sounds pretty damn good:
      Fields given by each level of Terraformer = Energy Tech level / 2 - 1 :oops:
